Catherine and Nicolas’ Casa Feliz Winter Park wedding was bright, personal, and full of joy. Between the springtime light and the elegant design details, everything about their celebration felt warm and intentional. One of the reasons they connected with me was because I’m a Florida wedding photographer who speaks Spanish, which meant I could communicate easily with their family members. Beyond capturing the authentic emotions of the day, I love helping couples create an experience for their guests that feels natural and comfortable for everyone in attendance.

Why Casa Feliz Is One of the Best Winter Park Wedding Venues

With its timeless historic charm, Casa Feliz was the perfect setting for Catherine and Nicolas’ spring wedding day. Located in the heart of Winter Park, Florida (just north of Orlando), this historic estate wedding venue is known for its Spanish architecture, whitewashed brick, tiled rooflines, and beautiful courtyard spaces. It has so much charm built into every corner, and it photographs beautifully from morning through sunset.

For Catherine, the venue felt especially personal because it reminded her of the Dominican Republic, where she and her family are from. That connection made the space feel even more special for their celebration. The Spanish-style design, warm textures, and romantic atmosphere fit the vision for their day so naturally, especially with their olive, ivory, beige, and gold color palette.

Casa Feliz is a Winter Park wedding venue that stands out for couples who love historic charm, beautiful architecture, and a setting that feels both romantic and elegant. This venue also holds a special place in my heart because it is where I got married in 2015. Getting to photograph Catherine and Nicolas at this special location made the day even more meaningful for me.

Getting Ready at Casa Feliz

The day began at Casa Feliz as Catherine got dressed with her mom, aunt, and grandmother. Her details were beautiful too—from the invitation suite featuring a watercolor painting of the venue to her strapless gown with its embroidered leaf motif. Everything felt soft, refined, and perfect for a spring wedding at a historic estate wedding venue like this one.

The color palette of olive, ivory, beige, and golden accents worked so well with the natural warmth of Casa Feliz. Catherine’s bridesmaids wore olive dresses that tied everything together beautifully, while Nicolas and his groomsmen kept things timeless in classic black tuxedos. Every detail felt intentional and timeless.

First Look & Portraits in the Spanish Courtyard

One of my favorite parts of the day was Catherine and Nicolas’ first look in the courtyard. It was such an emotional moment. Nicolas was trying so hard to hold back tears, and you could feel just how excited and overwhelmed they both were to finally be at this part of the day together.

After their first look, we made time for portraits around the property, and Casa Feliz gave us so much to work with. The Spanish courtyard, textured walls, arched openings, and staircases all added so much depth and character to their photos. Some of my favorite images from the day are the ones I captured through the door panels into the courtyard. It just shows why it’s so important to have an experienced Orlando wedding photographer by your side—someone who knows every corner of your venue to authentically capture the magic of your day.

Beautiful Winter Park Ceremony Near Casa Feliz

Catherine and Nicolas said their vows at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, which is just walking distance from Casa Feliz. After the ceremony, we made time for family photos and full wedding party portraits before heading back to Casa Feliz for cocktail hour and the rest of the evening. Because it was easy to start at the venue, walk to the church, and return to Casa Feliz for the rest of the celebration, the flow for the entire day felt seamless.

Sunset Portraits and an Elegant Outdoor Dinner

Back at Casa Feliz, cocktail hour gave us the chance to step away for sunset portraits in front of the venue, and those images are some of my favorites from the day. The light against the Spanish-style exterior was so soft and beautiful, and the whole property photographed so well as the sun started to go down.

Dinner outside on the brick terrace was another standout part of the evening. I loved photographing the venue from above as guests sat down to eat, and also from farther away with the deep blue sky settling in behind the reception. Casa Feliz has such a strong presence on its own, and it created the perfect backdrop for a celebration that felt elegant, inviting, and full of life. Casa Feliz Reception That Turned Into a Party

Once the reception really got going, this wedding turned into such a fun celebration. One especially meaningful moment was when the groom’s brothers sang and performed during the mother-son dance. It added such a personal touch to the evening and made that part of the reception feel even more memorable.

After that, the dance floor stayed packed all night. Glow sticks came out, the energy stayed high, and everyone was fully in it from start to finish. Catherine also changed into a short beaded mini-dress for dancing, which was such a fun second look and absolutely perfect for the party atmosphere. They ended the night with a bubble exit, and it matched the joyful energy that was evident all day long.

A Springtime Casa Feliz Wedding Full of Joy

Catherine and Nicolas’ Casa Feliz wedding was the kind of day that reminds me why I love photographing weddings so much. It was elegant, emotional, and so much fun, with meaningful family moments, beautiful design choices, and a couple who were fully present with each other all day long. From getting ready at Casa Feliz to their emotional first look, a beautiful ceremony, sunset portraits, and a packed dance floor at the end of the night, every part of the day felt genuine and full of joy. I loved hearing their kind words after their wedding:

“Choosing Gabriela was the best decision me and my husband took when wedding planning. From the first meeting her energy, personality and passion was evident. She is the absolute best! She truly captured the essence of our wedding day. Part of my family only speaks Spanish so her being able to communicate with them was also a game changer. Gaby is truly the sweetest and amazing at her job.”
